INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH QUIZ

It is almost the end of the academic year and my students have been learning a lot of different aspects related to the British culture.

For that reason, I created a Quiz with Prezi to let them prove and show their knowledge. I think it is a very funny game to put into practise all they have learnt!

Here you have the presentation: Prezi: English International Quiz.

GIBRALTAR

CLICL PROJECT

Hi guys! In this last term, students are going to visit Gibraltar. Then, we have decided it was a great opportunity to prepare a CLIL project. Our main goal is to provide the students with some facts about Gibraltar and make them research for information about the different topics related to History, Geography, Natural Sciences, Technology, Maths and Music. Thus, learning a lot about the culture of this unique place and improving their English at the same time in a fun, interactive manner.

The project will follow different steps:

Step 1: In the English classroom, I will explain what the activity and the visit to Gibraltar. will be like. We will read all the worksheet questions in the classroom to check they understand everything. Before the visit, they will do some research at home too.

Step 2: One-day trip looking for information in situ.

Step 3: Worksheet completion. Click here to have it.

Have fun!

COMPLETE THE STORY

WRITING ACTIVITY

Hi everyone! In order to practice gerunds and infinitives, I have proposed my students the following activity:

Step 1: Students will be asked to tell the teacher verbs followed by gerund first, and then verbs followed by the “to” infinitive. Then, we will complete a wheel using this web. Here is the wheel we created:

Step 2: It's time to complete the story. The teacher will write on the board the beginning of a story. Then, he/she will spin the wheel and the students will have to continue the story using the verb that appears on the wheel. They will have one minute to complete the story before the teacher spins the wheel again.

Step 3: Peer-correction. Students will give their story to a classmate who will check if they have used the verbs properly. They can ask the teacher for help whenever they need it.

see you in class
