COMPLETE THE STORY
WRITING ACTIVITY
Hi everyone! In order to practice gerunds and infinitives, I have proposed my students the following activity:
Step 1: Students will be asked to tell the teacher verbs followed by
gerund first, and then verbs followed by the “to” infinitive. Then, we will
complete a wheel using this web. Here is the wheel we created:
Step 2: It's time to complete the
story. The teacher will write on the board the beginning of a story. Then, he/she will spin the wheel and the students will have to continue the story using the
verb that appears on the wheel. They will have one minute to complete the story
before the teacher spins the wheel again.
Step 3: Peer-correction. Students will give their story to a classmate who
will check if they have used the verbs properly. They can ask the teacher for help whenever they need it.
