Lemon Tree by Fool's Garden is a very useful song to review present simple and continuous, as you can see. I know you love songs; they are funny and attractive, and they really help you to memorize and retain new vocabulary and grammar.

Be careful! Estas son algunas diferencias culturales que también deberás tener en cuenta en Gran Bretaña:
  • Ya sea en un ambiente profesional o amistoso, la puntualidad es imprescindible para los británicos.
  • En situaciones formales se requiere una vestimenta apropiada.

Hi everyone! Our Unit 1 exam is near so it's time to review the vocabulary from this unit (food). Here I leave you a video of the Pass the word game I prepared for my students!

A: Beak: the hard part of a bird's mouth.

B: Butterfly: an insect with large, patterned wings.

C: Crocodile: a big reptile with a long mouth and sharp teeth, that lives in lakes and rivers.

D: Salamander: a small animal that looks like a lizard but has soft skin and lives both on land and in water.

E: Sheep: a farm animal with thick wool that eats grass and is kept for its wool, skin, and meat.

F: Fin: a thin, triangular part on a fish, which helps it to swim.

G: Goldfish: a small, orange fish that is often kept as a pet.

H: Horse: a large animal with four legs, which people ride or use to pull heavy things.

I: Tiger: a large wild animal of the cat family with yellowish orange fur with black lines that lives in parts of Asia.

K: Trunk: the long, tube-shaped nose of an elephant.

P: Parrot: a tropical bird with a curved beak and colourful feathers that can be taught to copy what people say.

Q: Mosquito: a small flying insect that sucks your blood, sometimes causing malaria.

R: Frog: a small, green animal with long back legs for jumping that lives in or near water.

S: Shark: a large fish that has sharp teeth and a pointed fin on its back.

T: Tail: a part of an animal's body, sticking out from the base of the back, or something similar in shape or position.

U: Tusk: either of the two long, pointed teeth of some animals such as elephants.

V: Vet: the person who takes care of animals when they are sick or hurt.

W: Claw: one of the sharp, curved nails on the feet of some animals and birds.

X: Extinct: When an animal no longer exists because it is dead.

Y: Fly: a small insect with two wings.

Z: Chimpanzee: an African animal like a large monkey.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS TABOO

Here you have a version of the classic game Taboo to practise Present Continuous. Hope you enjoy it!


Instructions: 
  • Divide the students in groups (as many as you consider necessary).
  • Explain the basic rules of the game; one player should help the rest of the group say the correct present continuous sentence that appears on the card, but he/she cannot use the three forbidden words.
  • The team which has more points at the end of the game is the winner.

PROJECT UNIT 1

ANDALUSIAN RECIPES BOOK





In this first unit, students will write a recipe of a famous Andalusian dish. Then, all the recipes will be gathered and we will create our digital Andalusian Recipes book.


PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: You will be assigned a recipe.

STEP 2: You will write the ingredients and steps of your recipe. Dont worry! We will do many different activities in the class to help you talk about food and its ingredients.

FINAL TASK: Finally, you will create the recipe (using the web conceptdraw) that will be later added to the recipes book. Here you have an example:
